Religious Talk: Science Versus Religion One

Religious Talk: Science versus Religion One. Christians also believe that Jesus will come “like a thief in the night” before these the coming of the antichrist. Some are unsure and their faith is being swayed because science constantly tries to disprove God because it has nothing better to do with its theories, conclusions, and analytics. The serpent is the symbol of evil in the Garden of Eden. Egyptians believed in some pretty questionable practices which could be considered satanic.

Christians believe in scripture such as “The meek shall inherit the earth,” implies God will not destroy the earth as scientists claim will eventually happen when the sun becomes a red giant. Revelation tells tales of signs that will occur before judgment day. Christians also believe that Jesus will come “like a thief in the night” before these the coming of the antichrist. Some are unsure and their faith is being swayed because science constantly tries to disprove God because it has nothing better to do with its theories, conclusions, and analytics.

I say keep the faith my brothers and sisters. Science has made many false analysis and predictions to date which even their carbon dating can be off by several years. Claims of the Bible only dating back around 50,000 years when life presumably began is argued by science because of skeletons of man they found that date back millions of years. Well their theory only disproves the timeline of the Bible you believe we evolved from monkeys or apes. I don’t believe the timeline is completely accurate anyway for reasons I will clarify for you later.

I do not believe that we evolved from monkeys or else God would also be a monkey according to the Bible. If evolution is correct, then everything we know of as life came from a single pool of evolutionary gunk. This would imply that our DNA would be identical to everything else in such a way that we could breed with animals or use their parts to replace our own without the use of drugs to keep our bodies from rejecting them. Science argues things like this through simple theories of evolution that are not proven to date.

If you are Christian then read between the lines. With as much as science has tried to disprove God, would science not be considered the true antichrist? It is science that we rely on to keep us safe from the unexplained and future cataclysmic events. Even our modern medicine uses symbols derived from serpents, Egyptian symbolism, and all of which represent not Christian symbols. The serpent is the symbol of evil in the Garden of Eden. Egyptians believed in some pretty questionable practices which could be considered satanic.

The timeline of the Bible would not be accurately dated because the Bible itself was written by man first of all and not God. Secondly, these men who were inspired by God to write these holy books were not all accepted and some books were kept out of the Bib by the men that put the Bile together. Thirdly, man was not given the knowledge to write for some time after they were created so a lot could have been left out and the details of the story of creation might not be accurately depicted in the Bible. If you believe in the Bible, Genesis discusses two creations. The first creation was only briefly mentioned. Who knows how long before the second creation took place?

The Bible was meant to be a tool for man to create a personal relationship with God and not be an exact timeline of events or else God would have written it himself. Why would he have man write it, if he wanted it to be accurate? Christians believe that Christ will return in 2000 years after his ascension. To me this implies we would have to know the date of his death. If he was born around 6 BC and was crucified at the age of 30 this would put his apparent death at around 24 AD. So the second coming would be around 2024 AD in this case. The Bible dictates that “no man knoweth the hour.”

I might have to have something to say about this...

By all means do so.

Voted, but I'm with Creighton on possibly tossing this one around. Personally, as an atheist, I think there's a lot more to this topic. I admire that it is a great challenge to confine your article to a few hundred words, but you've given me the ambition to take the next turn on this one. .imz

Oh yes there is always mmore to be discussed and it took a great deal of restraint to keep the article minimized. I understand everyone has different beliefs and isnt that the way things are suposed to be? PLease do take this to the next level. I love good conversations.

wow...this would make for good conversation, Kevin. Very interesting and very well written (even within your constraints).

"Science of man is limited and no more than theories and mathematical equations....." Science is a "hell" of a lot more than that. There are plenty of laws governed by science. Science is only satanic to those who are afraid of it's relevance to the natural world because many of its findings threaten the validity of the bible. Why do you think the catholic church murdered scientists back in the day? Science goes through the scientific method by starting with a question and ending with a conclusion. And yes there are many scientific theories, but they're just waiting for breakthroughs that will occur in time. One problem out of the many I have with religion is it starts with doctrine written by man claiming irrational stories that are automatically assumed to be true without any inductive reasoning. Science is able to establish truth whether it be from carbon dating(which is proven accurate) to something like forensic science. The bible has many flaws and contradictions, which many choose to ignore. Evolution is indeed a theory, but it is without a doubt more evident than genesis. The world is 4.5 billion years old, live with it. We live and we die, and "all we'll ever have is questions, we'll never know." If believing in a god helps you sleep at night, that's more power to you, but don't bash on science just because you find it threatening because without it, our way of life would be lost.

I am not bashing science at all. I am merely pointing out that mankind with its rebelious nature wants to utilize it to disporve God and thus making man the superior being or god. This is imbedded in our human nature as the bible does state that we were created in God's image so of course we would consider ourselves to be god-like as we make scientific breakthroughs. I am not an angry person on th ematter as many of my fellow Christians are or you for that matter. There is no need for any hosility. It only concludes that psycologically you have doubts of your own if you are angered so much. Psycology is a science of its own and atheists are known to be narcisistic. I am curious how man can not believe in God personally. I can sleep at night. Can you sleep with the belief of natural selection, dying with nothing afterwards, or no purpose whatsoever? And my point that so many atheists believe in ghosts but not God is a curious subject I would appreciate your insight on. Though angry, you sound very intelligent.

I suppose you can say I was a bit hot under the collar on my last comment. Your article carries a tone that discriminates against science. I meant no disrespect with my point of view, but your article is very bias. There shouldn't be a conflict between science and religion on the basis of right in wrong. I was born and raised a catholic along with being a firm believer in god until I was old enough to find my own answers through education and utilizing intuition. It's easy to believe but even harder to think. Science was intended to feed man's appetite for curiosity in what was not known in the natural world. It's intent was for the benefit of mankind and as time went on became a tool for sustainability(on the contrary, we now realize the impact of the human carbon footprint). Of course the findings of science are going to raise questions on the true meaning of our being(if one exists). I must agree that life was easier just believing, but life pointed me in a different direction. I do not consider myself a full-blown atheist, but rather an open minded one. I accept the fact that there are things in life we just can not explain. Ghosts??? No way. Just blind delusions between the ears of frightened people. Can I sleep with the possibility that we only live once along with an infinity of nothingness? Sure. I admit it isn't easy to cope with, but it is just as likely as the alternative. Maybe that's why faith and religion came to be. Who knows. You speak of psychology to favor your opinion on the atheist, but have you considered the science of psychology on religious followers? Watch religulous by Bill Maher and I'd like your insight on the interesting documentary.
